Desktop & mobile setup

Get the right 3CX app.

Start with your 3CX invitation, then install from our phone system. Use this page whenever you set up a new computer or phone.

Open 3CX & install app

Opens our secure phone system: cdlagency.il.3cx.us:5001

Activate your account

Open your “Your 3CX account details” invitation and use Set your password. Sign in with your work email or extension and that 3CX password.

Already signed in successfully? Keep your existing password. If your invitation is missing or expired, ask your team administrator for a fresh one.

Install on your computer

Open the button above in Google Chrome on Mac or Windows, or Microsoft Edge on Windows. After signing in, select Apps → Web App (PWA) → Install Now, then approve Install.

You can also use the install icon in the browser’s address bar. This creates the desktop app for our phone system, with calls, chat and SMS in one place.

Before removing your old app, open the new one and check that it shows your name and extension. Keep the new app’s Dock or taskbar icon so you open the correct one tomorrow.

Need the separate Windows softphone?

In your signed-in 3CX account, choose Apps → Windows App or download the Windows softphone from Microsoft Store. After installation, return to that same screen and click Provision, then allow Open 3CX. Installing alone does not connect it to your account. Official Windows instructions ↗

Enable your headset and call alerts

Allow microphone and notifications when prompted. In 3CX, select the right headset microphone and speaker, choose the browser/web app as your calling device, and set your status to Available.

Keep the app running during your shift. Camera access is only needed if you use video calling.

Add your mobile phone

Install 3CX using your phone’s official app store link below. In your signed-in desktop account, open the QR code and scan it from the 3CX mobile app to connect your extension.

Allow microphone and incoming-call notifications. Follow the app’s background or battery prompts so calls can reach you while the screen is locked. Keep your provisioning QR code private.

Check before your first shift

  • Call a teammate or an agreed test phone. Confirm you can both hear each other.
  • Have them call your work number back. Check it rings with the app open and while another window is in front.
  • If your work number has SMS enabled, send a test text to an agreed test phone and have them reply. Confirm both messages arrive.
  • Quit and reopen the app once. Confirm your account loads and your calling device is still selected.

If a check fails, tell your administrator your extension, device, time of the test and the exact error. Never send passwords or QR codes.

Trouble signing in?

Browser works, but the desktop app rejects my password

Check the address in the app’s menu or app information. It must be cdlagency.il.3cx.us:5001. An app connected to another phone system will not recognize your account. Install again from the button on this page, confirm your account opens, then uninstall the old app.

Google sign-in returns me to the login screen

First check that you opened our phone system using this page. Google sign-in only works when your administrator has enabled it for your account. Use your 3CX invitation and password, or ask your administrator to check your account.

I’m logged in, but calls or text messages do not work

Check your selected calling device, headset, microphone permission, notifications and Available status. If calls or SMS still fail, report the test details to your administrator so they can check your assigned number and routing.
